This guide is designed to provide a clear path to recovery, outlining every step of your journey with Dr. French. Our goal is to ensure you feel supported, informed, and empowered from day one.

A supportive, transparent process designed for you.

Living with persistent hand or wrist pain isn't just an inconvenience; it can steal your ability to work, enjoy your passions, and even perform simple daily tasks, leaving you feeling frustrated and anxious about the future. In British Columbia, many also face the added burden of long wait times, feeling stranded without clear answers or timely care.
We believe in a better path forward. Your journey with us is a collaborative partnership where you are the hero. Dr. French acts as your empathetic guide, offering a clear, personalized plan that restores hope and puts you in control of your healing.
Step 1

Your comprehensive consultation.

Your path begins with a comprehensive assessment of your hand or wrist condition. This crucial first step, available either in-person or via telehealth for your convenience, is a thorough diagnostic process that provides you with clear answers, reducing uncertainty and fear. Dr. French will listen to your story, explore your history and lifestyle, and ensure you have a full understanding of your condition.
Step 2

Collaborative treatment planning.

Following your diagnosis, you will work together with Dr. French to develop a personalized treatment plan. This collaborative discussion is designed to empower you by involving you directly in your care. We ensure the final plan aligns with your specific needs, lifestyle, and ultimate goal: to get back to your life and the activities you value.
Step 3

Preparing for your procedure.

Once your surgical plan is in place, our team will provide you with all the necessary pre-operative instructions and support. We will guide you through scheduling your procedure at a time that works for you, offering timely access to care to alleviate the stress associated with long waits. For our out-of-town patients, this is when we help you coordinate your travel and accommodation logistics.
Step 4

Your surgery day.

Your procedure will be performed by Dr. French at the Cambie Surgery Centre in Vancouver, a state-of-the-art private surgical facility. Dr. French's specialized plastic surgery background and microsurgical skills from Harvard bring a refined, meticulous approach to your surgery, focusing on optimal functional outcomes. Our team will ensure your experience is as comfortable and seamless as possible.

Our focus is on restoring the function you need to overcome limitations and thrive once more. After your surgery, we will provide a detailed recovery plan and schedule follow-up appointments (in-person or telehealth) to monitor your progress. We are committed to supporting you throughout your recovery as you regain your strength and get back to doing what you love.
